Well, I know the title can only mean one thing. Cat and Mouse. One of my favorite cartoon shows ever. It is the only show where me and my brother who goes to sixth standard watch with equal enthusiasm. Cartoon network rerun the episodes n number of times and still I will watch it and laugh.
Okay, now coming to the reason as to why this post has this title. Well, I have always thought Tom and Jerry share an amazing relationship. They prod each other and fight with each other like hell but when faced with a common threat, team up and do a great job. I had assumed this was an imaginary one.
In real life, one cannot argue\fight with a person all the time they are together but still manage to work together. There are emotions involved. After effects and thinking involved. I did not consider it a healthy relationship.
But my view has changed now. I can very well say Tom and Jerry is possible in real life. I am experiencing it. I argue with a person almost every time we talk. But still that person is the one I go to when I want to discuss things. Its because the arguments that is caused in the process actually enlightens me regarding the things I want to discuss and I understand things more that what I would have done if I had gone through the problem alone.
And now, I have realised it more than ever. Arguments are good and are mostly productive if we know when to stop arguing. Tom and Jerry relationships are fine until we know when to stop the fighting and start teaming up to face the threat.

My take on Thupakki
Its been long since I blogged and being sick and miserable in the beginning of the weekend is not just what I was pleased about. So I decided to brave my health and go to Thupakki, the recent release of Vijay.
Now, I am the kind of person who loves watching movies just for the pleasure of it. Logic takes second place in my list. But it doesn't mean I enjoy illogical movies. Yes, I can accept few slips in logic. And this is exactly why I loved Thupakki. Except for very few slips, the movie was completely engaging.
The pace of the movie was a kind of mixed bag. Few parts were really fast paced while some bore down on my patience with its slow pace. But overall, the story line was good an screenplay was great.
Vijay was a little different with his acting here. Come on, give him some credits. Yeah, he has had bad movies but an actor must be given some chance at redemption and Thupakki definitely counts as one of his best efforts at this.
So if anyone asks me if Thupakki is worth watching, I will definitely say 'Yes'.
And as my Facebook Status goes : 'Despite being bedridden and barely able to talk, I went to theatre to watch Thupakki and did not regret a moment of it!!! I'm not sure who deserves more praise, A R Murugadoss or Vijay...'

DaNcInG@FLaShMoB!!!
Dancing! I am brimming from the excitement of Dancing in a Flash Mob!!! First time, when I was told there was going to be a Flash Mob in the office, I was a little bit apprehensive of joining in. But then, I remembered a line I read from a book "No change, No gain". So I decided to take a chance and joined in. Though I learnt classical dance in school days, I stopped all dancing related activities after school. So after four years, I was dancing and this experience definitely reminded me how much I loved to dance.
And what fun we had!!! I danced some steps I would never have if not for this flash mob. We had a very good dance master who handled the herculean task of making us all scarecrows dance. There were 20 odd people in the flash mob and we had all kind of weird movements and steps tested during the practice. We even tried to passionately recommended the famous bulb dance ragging step to be included. In the end, we did a variation of it. Our dance master did complete the herculean task. By the final rehearsal, everyone involved had found the dancer within them.
The Flash Mob in itself was a huge success. In the rush and excitement, all I remember is the dancing. All self consciousness lost in the crowd. It was one exhilarating experience!!!
So, here are three cheers to the Flash Mob! Hip, Hip, Hurray!!! \m/

Happy Teachers Day!!!

| You will never know your true potential if not for your Teacher! |
Teachers. Well, what can I say about them? They play the most instrumental role in everyone's life. I am sure all of us have that special teacher who inspired you to do things. Things you did not think you were capable of. Things you would not have attempted and succeeded if not for the trust the teacher put in. In my school days, I used to work hard just for the smile the teacher would bestow on me when she gave me the paper.
Well, then college happened. Though I had more teachers in four years than I had in entire twelve years of school life, my attitude did not remain the same. I guess, it happens almost with everyone. The teachers in school and college are never seen with the same eyes. May be, I grew up and changed or may be, the teaching at school and college level was quite different. But whatever may the reason be, the reverence I had for teachers a.k.a professors was inversely proportional to the the time I spent in college. But even here, I found one beacon. The sole teacher for whom I have utmost reverence. He was my first project guide, my mentor and a well wisher throughout college. I have not heeded to his advise many a time and learnt the hard way that he was always right. Yet, he was always patient and guided me through my college days.
To all the teachers who are responsible for where I am today and what I will become tomorrow, Happy Teacher's Day!!! And a very big thank you :)
P.S.: I know everyone has their own special teacher. Feel free to share about them in your comments below :)

A new beginning :)
I have finally entered the next phase of life. I am working. If there is one thing I realized about myself during the three months I stayed jobless at home, it is that I am a compulsive workaholic. I can never be without doing anything. I need something to occupy my time. Be it a simple book or a puzzle to solve or a chumki work on my old top, I was around my house, always searching for things to do. When I complained about it, all I would hear is "You can be like this only now, so enjoy it" and there was nothing I hated more than hearing the reply. So right now, in my new job, I can say I am happy to have something to work on.

Memories of Teachers from School
I was lucky enough to have studied in the same school from Kindergarten to tenth standard. One of the advantages of studying in the same school during the formative years is the deep connection you have with the teachers.
I had teachers whom I knew right from my kindergarten. There was this particular teacher, Ms. Sigappi, who taught us English in tenth standard whom I remember from an incident in my UKG. She had pinched my cheeks hard on my birthday and I used to hate it. I went on to tell her boldly that I do not like it and she had asked sorry then. I was astonished when she asked me teasingly in my tenth standard if I still hated it. Such was her memory power. She was a constant source of support in my tenth standard. Her subject, English used to be my favorite and I had great expectation to score in it. Sadly, my score was lowest in English. I was devastated and could barely face her. But then, she was the one who reached out to me and encouraged me. When I secured state first in English in my board exams, I was elated. But more than that, I was happy that I had proved that her faith in me was well placed. She is one teacher whom I will always remember.
If Ms. Sigappi was my academic mentor in school, Ms. Sheeja was my personality guru. She was a vivacious young teacher who came to my school when I was in Standard VI. She majored in Chemistry. She was a malayalee who was brought up in Bhopal and recently moved to Karur. She was a great teacher who always answered all our questions unrelentingly, no matter to which subject it related to. She was the one who always encouraged me to participate in all types of events. I will say it were these events that gave me the confidence that I possess today. All my inhibitions slowly deserted me and I was able to grow into a confident girl.
Another remarkable teacher was my second school principal, Mr. Ramasubramaniam. He always had inspiring words to say to students, no matter how dire the situation may be. I still remember his motivating sessions with the twelfth standard students before exams. I can say that he was one of the reasons why I scored good marks in my board exams.
On this day, I thank God for having given me the opportunity to study under such good teachers and to all the teachers who had molded me in to what I am now, I wish 'Happy Teacher's Day'.

My Laptop and Me...
My laptop and I share a special relationship. Considering the fact that i spend almost more than half of my time with it, I would not find fault with my friends who dubbed it as 'my boyfriend'! If there's any problem that one can encounter with a laptop, I would say, I have seen it all. But, still I love my laptop. It has been one thing I turn to, when I get moody, almost similar to a book. In fact, I got into the habit of reading e books which had had my laptop running for days together.
I got my beloved laptop during the second semester, the first day of Techofes '09, where actor Vijay was the chief guest. I remember rushing to receive it from my uncle and hurrying back to the gallery promising him to take good care of it, half hearing his instructions. Well, I can say I have tried to keep the promise. My laptop is still up and running. So far, so good.
But now, I would say it requires serious help. Its chaise is scratched, its battery is fired and I often get displays like we get in TV when the cable power is gone. Looks like its time to remodel it. I guess it will be on its way to service shop anytime soon.
P.S. : This post was written seeing the plight of my poor laptop. Bear with my whims.
